We Won!

Our basketball game on Saturday was so much fun!  This time we had fun playing, and then the added joy of actually winning a game!  Our goal this game was to keep possession of the ball better than we have been.  In order to do that, we worked on defensive dribbling, and making sure to get the rebounds (instead of letting the other team get them all the time).  The girls did a fabulous job!  We had possession of the ball WAY more than we usually do, and it payed off with us being able to score more and to keep the other team from scoring as much.

Several of the girls were unable to come, which meant that we had a smaller team (only 6 girls).  This meant that everyone got to play lots!  They played really well and were very tired by the end.

Some of my favorite moments were:

• When Christelle scored a three pointer.  When she took the shot, I have to admit that my first thought was "what is she doing, why didn't she pass the ball?"  But then the ball just "whooshed" right into the net!  It was so awesome!  
• When Christelle attempted to make a shot while she was on the ground.  She had fallen, but then got on her knees and tried to make a basket anyway.  She didn't succeed, but I love that she tried!
• Avery's defending.  She was so good at getting right up into the offenses faces and being the best annoying defender that she could.
• Ka-kaw!  Really, there is power in our cheer.
• Lauren's great shooting!  She scored 10 points for us this game!
• Everyone's great attitude!  We could loose every game and I would still have fun playing basketball with these girls.
